She also ran ran ran after those reindeer.
I will try to keep you all posted aon a more cosistant basis in 2009....

It has taken some time for me to finally post some info on Star and how she is doing. Rob and the kids surprised me with bringing her home the last weekend in June. I was at a women's conference and I returned to see my family walking with Star down to the driveway to meet me. She was so cute and friendly and seemed fit in so well with us. We enjoyed the following days getting to know her and allowing her to get to know us. She has done very well with our 3 cats, although the cats were unsure about her for a few days. They have since come out of hiding and are back to life as usual.

We have been so busy that we have not had a chance to make our wish upon the Star.
Little Star,
Wish we may, wish we might, that you did find your forever home so right!
We wish that you have wonderful times with your new family and that you will fill their hearts with joy.
The boys miss you, Star. We look forward to visiting together soon.
Love,
Your Foster Family: Kane, Dewy, Van, Susan, and the Cats

Star sleeps in a kennel at night, and stays in it for brief periods of time when I go out during the day. When I get back and let her out she does this really cute hop as she turns in a circle. It reminds me of a bunny. She expresses her happinesss through her goofy "smile" and her wiggling body. Star needs no stunt double, she does all of her own loving.
Action Star!
Twinkle twinkle little Star,
If people knew how sweet you are.
You would not be here tonight,
But in your forever home sleeping tight.

Star has mastered the basics of living in a home. She is great on the stairs, eats well, plays with toys, goes out to potty, and loves toys and treats. She is perfect with our cats.
Star is very happy-go-lucky, nothing gets her down. She is always walking around with a smile on her face. She is ready for her forever home where she can be a shining star. No telescope needed to see this beauty.

Star has begun her inevitable greyhound blossoming. After only a few days she has started to fit right in and enjoy the finer things of dog life. She has discovered the joys of the kong and the delight of the pig's ear. I handed out pig's ears to the group and she was first in line to get one. She took it to her bed and promptly devoured it. Tonight she made her first toy squeak.
Star is such a happy girl and she is very friendly towards people. She will make someone a beautiful and loving girl.

We are having one heck of a light show at our house tonight. When I took Star out to potty she completely ignored the thunder and the lightning. She is very brave.
Shining Star!

Our second day with Star went very smoothly. She is surprisingly very well house trained for a grey just learning to live in a home. She loves to hange with the pack, but she does sleep in her kennel at night. She has met 3 visitors and eagerly greets people when they come in the house.
She has a very outgoing personality and is happy-go-lucky. She is getting to be a real champ at coming up the stairs, but going down them still requires some work.
She is still not very food motivated at this time, but she has shown more interest in the kong. We gave her a pig's ear but she was not quite sure what to make of it. She left it on the floor and one of her feline house mates came and chewed on it before giving up. Foster brother Dewey found it and polished it off.
Star is a sweet girl and will make a great friend for someone. Super star!

We picked up RCK Little Star yesterday from the kennel. She rode fine in the car and loaded and unloaded easily. The introductions to our other house members Kane, Dewey, and our 5 cats went without a hitch. Every one is getting along perfectly. Star ignores the cats and respects their space.
We call her Star for short. Her right ear is always up like a flag on a mailbox. She is an energetic and outgoing girl, but very well behaved. She has already walked up the interior basement stairs, but needs work going back down them. She is a slow eater and is not very food motivated. I am going to pick up some Bil Jac to see if this gets her interested.
We could not ask for a better start with this girl. She has been very easy so far. As the days pass I am sure we will get to know her personality better so we can share her new adventures with you.

Little Star is the cutest, sweetest, little girl and she has stolen my HEART!
She always looks as though she is winking and smiling at you!
She is very petite, and a beauty!
She is so sweet, so happy, so good...she is perfect just the way she is.
Star is a great walker, and she LOVES to be petted...she has the sweetest spirit, and deserves only the best.
She will be the STAR of your life...

What a cutie Little Star is! She tested cat tolerant so will no doubt find her forever home quickly. She loves to romp in the run and enjoys the sights and sounds of the outdoors. She also has a very cute ear (her right) that just doesn't move. This was definitely an asset when Kim and I were taking her photo for the website. She always looks alert! A real keeper, for sure!
